Abstract
Silk textiles, which are our national cultural heritage, have an important place in traditional Turkish arts. Silk carpets are rare works that are called “Hereke Silk Carpets” in the world and still maintain the same magnificence and existence as a Turkish brand. Hereke carpets are very valuable among hand-woven carpets. The richness and variety of colors, motifs, meanings in these carpets, which are woven with fine silk and wool threads of high quality and after long efforts, are enormous. These weavings, which have around 100-400 knots per square centimeter, are completely handcrafted. It is possible to see samples in different sizes, from large-sized weavings to tiny weavings. There are products produced for different purposes, from prayer rugs to floor mats.
